A Dream.
A Plan.

Good Fight is a creative and civic initiative rooted in one simple idea:
Good things happen when people care enough to show up.

Good Fight is being built alongside Open Session, and for now, it serves as its home. But the vision for Good Fight extends well beyond a single podcast.

At its core, Good Fight exists to tell stories, create clarity, and help connect people to the places they live, especially here in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Why Good Fight Exists

Cities are shaped by people — by their ideas, their effort, and their willingness to engage. But too often, the systems that govern daily life feel distant, complicated, or inaccessible.

Good Fight was created to help close that gap.

Through storytelling, conversation, and creative production, Good Fight aims to make civic life feel understandable, human, and worth engaging with. Whether that’s through a podcast episode, a short video, a live event, or a collaboration with a local organization, the goal is the same: Shine a light on the good work already happening, and help more people feel empowered to participate.

What We’re Building

Good Fight is intentionally being built from the ground up. Much of the foundation is happening quietly behind the scenes developing tools, workflows, and creative capacity to support meaningful work over the long term.

Over time, Good Fight will:

  • Produce podcasts and long-form audio storytelling

  • Collaborate with local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations

  • Help tell stories that inform, educate, and promote the good happening in La Crosse

  • Experiment across mediums, audio, video, writing, live conversations, to meet people where they are

  • Support projects that strengthen civic understanding, community pride, and local connection

Not everything will be polished at first. That’s intentional. This is a living project, designed to grow as the work grows.

Open Session: The First Chapter

Open Session is the first project to live under the Good Fight umbrella.

It’s a podcast focused on demystifying how local government works in La Crosse — breaking down processes, roles, and decisions in plain language so residents can better understand the city they live in.

Open Session reflects the spirit of Good Fight: curiosity-driven, education-first, and rooted in the belief that informed communities are stronger communities.

For now, Good Fight is the home of Open Session. Over time, it will become home to much more.

Looking Forward

Good Fight is a long-term effort grounded in care, patience, and the belief that good work pays off when you keep fighting the good fight.

The focus is human. The stories are real. And La Crosse is the perfect place to make an impact, big enough to build programs that succeed, and small enough that the right connections are often one degree away.

Here, you can cold-email a CEO and get a meeting. You can request a proclamation from the Mayor. You can rally a community and raise $60,000 to help make La Crosse the first city in America where every state-licensed childcare center has an AED. You can partner with a major university and fill a fieldhouse with families.

Good things can be done here. Good Fight intends to be a resource for the people doing them.

Thanks for joining us on the journey.
